Forumdoc. Indigenous filmmakers workshop
Forumdoc. 2006 indigenous filmmakers workshop proudly presents Zezinho Yube Hunikui, whose documentary “Xinã Bena, New Times” was awarded the Silver Armadillo Revelation Award in the 33rd Bahia’s International Movie Journey. He lives in the protected area for indigenous Praia do Carapanã, a village nearby Tarauacá, in the state of Acre.
As we propose an indigenous filmmakers workshop, we think about reciprocal exchanges, speeches and gazes that leave their traces, that contaminate each other. During this festival, a group of students will make a video about somewhere in Belo Horizonte and the residents. We think this is a way to rethink the role of movie festivals, so we can start achieving, other than just contemplating and debating. And so, we add a new gaze to the space in which we enter.
